The Bunkie Test

These 5 pictures are the 5 tests to determine which areas of the fascia are ‘locked-long’ and therefor weaker.
Athletes who have neutral, balanced fascia will be able to hold all 5 these positions for 30 seconds on both the left and right leg, without any strain on any muscle or joint.
If you test these positions, and you do feel strain in an area, that indicates where the weakness is and your therapist should focus their attention on that area by doing:
- fascia release
- strengthening of the muscles in that area.
PLEASE NOTE
- The Bunkie Test will show up weakness on specific lines if there is fascia restriction in another area of the body.
- If any of your Bunkie positions test below 5 counts, you should not be using the test for strengthening.
- It is crucial that you first find a trained lynotherapist who will release the ‘locked-short’ fascia, which is causing the weakness on the Bunkie Test.
- If the treatment does not show an improvement in the Bunkie Test within the first 3 sessions, further assessments/tests need to be done to determine the cause of the problem.
- All treatment techniques can be tested for effectiveness with the Bunkie Test. If you do not improve, the technique is not working.
- Do not do the Bunkie Test if you have had any joint-related surgery within the past 3 months.
